Marinah

Marinah was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her—kind, witty, and full of strength. She had a heart that shone with warmth and a spirit that inspired those around her. Marinah’s presence brought joy and love that will never be forgotten. Her memory continues to live on in the countless lives she touched.

This poem spoke to Marinah. She had a “stay gold” tattoo because of what this poem and the song Gold said to her and meant to her:

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.
